So, here’s the line for 2013 all at the same time. Last year we did too many events where we lost money, got too frustrated, or just didn’t fit in all that well. We pretty much went broke by the end of the season even with a couple of very successful events so we’ve been a lot more selective about the places we will go this year. Also, I will not be bringing the pole lathe to every event. Instead, I will be bringing the gear I use for carving spoons and such; the chopping bench, shave horse, and the rope clamp, as well as the tools I use for carving bowls.
Φ April 6 To start off with, we will be at the Spring Fling at Killens Pond State Park . This will be a spoon carving demonstration. The event will run from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm and will feature music, games, hayrides, face painting and vendors. You will have to pay the park entrance fee ($3 with DE tags, $6 for out of state) and enter from Paradise Alley Rd.
Φ April 27 Ag Day at the University of Delaware College of Agriculture and Natural Resources just off 896, across from the old Chrysler plant. Click here,
facebook , for details. Otherwise, the event is free and runs from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Free admission. Spring pole demonstration and general green woodworking.
Φ May 11 The Town of Ocean View will host its third annual Homecoming from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., in the John West Park. This is a new event for us this year and will include the pole lathe. Click here for a map link to the site.
That’s it for now. Please keep checking back for updates. Hope to see you there. .
